An Australian clothing manufacturer has launched the world's first banana fibre underpants.
Men's underwear company aussieBum says banana plant fibre from Asia is used in its 'eco-friendly' undies, because there's no local supply available.
The underpants are in big demand in Europe, and company spokesman Lloyd Jones says people are asking some interesting questions.
"The general comment is what does it feel like? What does it smell like?" he says.
"Some people are like, does it smell like banana, and we're like, no, no, so you won't have any monkeys following you or anything.
"When we were showing it to a few people when we were out doing a photo shoot, everyone wanted to grab and touch it, and it's very soft and light fabric."
The Australian banana industry says it can't supply the fibre because there isn't manufacturing capacity near major growing areas.
