A very strong high is ridging along the NSW and QLD coasts, keeping skies clear inland and directing one or two showers onshore. The high is keeping VIC and TAs mostly clear and dry. A trough over the north is triggering a few showers and storms. The polar jet is losing strength over the southeast and is taking the coldest air with it across the Tasman Sea. The northern jet is sending high cloud over WA and is helping develop a surface trough on the west coast.
