A front is spreading cold southwesterly winds across the southeast, generating a few showers and snow on the ranges. A high pressure ridge is moving east, gradually clearing cloud and showers from SA. A trough is triggering rain over the WA Gascoyne. The polar jet has pushed north over southeastern Australia, allowing very cold air to reach NSW, possibly bringing sleet to lower levels. The jets are divergent in the west, allowing a region of high pressure to develop.
