A trough stretching through the country's interior is spreading areas of heavy rain and storms into QLD and NSW. Mild northerlies are pushing into the east ahead of the trough. A front is approaching SA, causing showery winds to develop over the southeast as a high clears WA.The northern jet is broad and strong over the southern half of the country, helping to feed moisture into a trough. The polar jet is keeping the coldest air well south of the mainland.
